Review: The -ve *Check in quite slow, and it wasn't busy..... *Breakfast buffet is below average i.e. poor fruit selection...soggy toast....horrible eggs....although omlette was good *Ummm attracts different clientel than the main strip resorts *rooms basic (But clean and I thought quite large) * no view for me but higher floors have good views if that's important to you (They tell you at recpetion if you have a view or not so honest about it) *restaurants average to poor but I'm a frequent traveller and somewhat fussy * Too far awy from the rest of the action *Dodgy area at night (Taxi only or go as a group) +ve *pool has a good party kind of atmosphere (But is not of the same standard as higher priced resorts in terms of asthetics) *Service generally good (Except check in which is friendly enough but painfull) Summary: Get a good rate i.e. less than $80 per night IMO, or go elsewhere and visit the tower as a day visitor. The rides are sick (Really good). I dont gamble so cannot comment. Stay if you are on a budget and can get a good rate, personally I will try somehwere else next time. Stay if you are young group into pool scene but I have no experinece so other resorts may be better. (+ve revies I think come from people who dont travel much). Its better than the Sahara where I stayed last time.

Review: We stayed at Stratosphere in Feb 2006. Everything - the rooms, the food, the rewards, the service - was a great value for what we paid - everything was reasonable. Only one catch - the resort is was too far from the center of the strip. In fact, the area surrounding the resort resembled a place you would want to get AWAY from on vacation! Stratosphere would be the perfect resort if they could pick it up and move it more towards the middle of the strip. Pros: - clean - good food, rewards, service - they gave us a booklet full of prizes Cons: - too far from everything! - bad area surrounding it (scary at night) - casino was somewhat smaller than other resorts

Review: Do not believe all the bad reviews. I have been going to Las Vegas for over 15 years and have stayed at almost every hotel on the strip and while the hotel isnt the best on the strip it is far from the worst. I have stayed at the hotel 7 or 8 times and have never had a dirty room or had any problems what so ever. Check in is always quick and they just opened another area to check as well at the back of casino. I stay there because the slots are generous and comps are some of the best on the strip. My last trip there I went with my Mom and in five days we only paid for two meals apiece. We used the comps on our slot card to pay for the rest. If you are on a budget and what a cheap place to stay and a clean nice room. I highly recommend it. Any questions feel free to email me at Vegaswinner777@aol.com Viva Las Vegas Loyd

Review: Not sure when these other reviews took place, but I just stayed there in Nov. 2005 and had a great experience. Easy, quick check-in & check-out. Friendly, clean, no problems. I would recommend this hotel and the value is great. Not too far away so-to-speak...all you have to do is jump a bus, or catch the monorail at the Sahara. The view is one of a kind, the rides at the top of the town are insane! Relax, enjoy and have no worries here.

Review: Customer service at check in- Poor. They try to rip you off by adding some resort fee to your account even if you tell them while checking in that you will not be using the resort. Dinner Buffet- poor quality. They had a bald gay waiter that was terrible as he only likes to serve the men (I think he was the only waiter they had during the dinner time). Please try to stay at some other hotel if you get the same price.

Review: Staying at the Stratosphere was like staying at a truckers motel. The powder room in my average house was bigger than the bathroom in my room. The door barely cleared the tub and anyone's (who might be using the toilet) knees when opened. I did think the gambling was better than average but my stay was so unpleasant, I have not gone back on my last two trips. All their offers aren't worth reliving the bad memories.

Review: Just found this website, but hope to add my comments to places I know well. Check-in: They've improved, but with nearly 3000 rooms, it's best to check in early. I try to arrive by 1 pm. Arrive later, and you might face up to 1 hour waits. Food comps are tight, and it will take quite a lot of play (especially for videopoker players) to even get a basic buffet (which is mediocre). Even some of the 100% vp games have been taken away. Once established, though, you will get discounted offers in the mail. Look for the new "Unified" club joint system with the Arizona Charlies (same owner). Amenities- Plenty for a newcomer. Be sure to visit the observation tower around sunset - spectacular views of the city at night. Shows - great afternoon show and variety musical-impersonator show in the evening. Often, there are coupons to give you both a meal and the show. 2nd floor mall - is small by shopping standards, but a good (non-gaming) diversion. Also has a few fast-food options (Nathan's hotdogs, and McDonald's). Others come and go, depending on how business is doing up there. Car - I still prefer having one here. It is a small walk to the Sahara, but anywhere else is at least a good 4 blocks or more walk through some seedy areas (only recommended in the daylight hrs).
